Register for Bike to School Day

Bike to School Day will take place on Thursday, May 10, 2012, where thousands of school children become pedal pushers—riding their bikes to school all around the County. Please consider supporting this healthy and sustainable program today by participating.

The Transportation Agency will provide financial assistance. Schools can choose to host a breakfast site before or after school on May 10th for those who ride their bikes that day, or decide to purchase prizes to reward students for their participation. To qualify for assistance, schools must register online or send a copy of the registration form to the Transportation Agency by noon on Wednesday, April 4, 2012.

What can be expected of a School?

  • Advertise the event to students, teachers and parents.
  • During the week of May 9th, volunteers will purchase food and/or giveaway prizes within the budget allotted by the Transportation Agency.
  • Provide volunteers to set-up and staff the event.
  • Submit invoices to the Transportation Agency for reimbursement.

What can be expected of the Transportation Agency?

  • Provide bike week posters for schools to promote Bike to School Day at the beginning of April.
  • Provide prizes and bicycle safety items such as helmets.
