Bike to School Day Registration

The Transportation Agency invites all schools within the Monterey County School Districts to participate in Bike to School Day (Thursday, May 13, 2010). By getting involved in the Monterey County Bike Week, a school is positioning itself as a community-minded school that is working to enhance environmental quality, improve health and quality of life of students, and reduce traffic congestion. In 2009, over 4,200 students across the County participated in this celebration.

The Transportation Agency will assist with breakfast items and provide prizes for schools to distribute. Schools will host a breakfast site before or after school on May 13th for those who rode their bikes to school that day. To participate in Bike to School Day, schools must submit the attached form (also available online at www.bike2work.com) to the Agency by noon on Monday, March 22nd, 2010.

What can be expected of a School?

  • Advertise the event to students, teachers and parents.
  • Volunteers will pick-up food and giveaway items at the Transportation Agency, located at 55 B Plaza Circle, Salinas, CA 93901 during the week of May 3rd.
  • Provide volunteers to set-up and staff the event.
  • Provide tables for the event
