TAMC CONE ZONE REPORT                                  



MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, March 18 through Saturday, March 24 – newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Highway 1 Storm Repair Along the Big Sur Coast
Due to past slides, State Route 1 is now closed at the Ranger Station North Ragged Point Inn and at Mud Creek.

Highway 1 – Monterey: March 19 – March 21
The Caltrans Monterey Maintenance crew will provide lane closures for the California Conservation Core (CCC) to perform vegetation control in the center median along Highway 1 in Monterey for three days, starting Monday, March 19, Caltrans officials have announced. Details are as follows:

  • Monday, March 19, closure of southbound #1 (left) lane at Soledad St. in Monterey from 9 am to 2 pm with 5-minute delays expected.
  • Tuesday, March 20, closure of the northbound #1 (left) lane just north of Carpenter St. in Carmel from 9 am to 2 pm with 5-minute delays expected.
  • Wednesday, March 21, closure of the northbound #1 (left) lane at Holman Highway (Hwy. 68) Overcrossing in Monterey from 9 am to 2 pm with 5-minute delays expected.

Electronic Message Boards will be posted to alert motorists of these closure.

Highway 68 – Salinas River Bridge: March 19 – March 23

Daytime bridge work along Highway 68 between Spreckels Boulevard and Reservation Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Highway 101 – Greenfield: March 19 – March 23
Daytime shoulder work along southbound & northbound Highway 101 from Harden Farms Road to Oak Avenue in Greenfield will occur from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
