TAMC CONE ZONE REPORT
ROAD AND LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 22 – APRIL 28
MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, April 22 through Saturday, April 28 – newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.
Highway 1 Storm Repair Along the Big Sur Coast
Due to past slides, State Route 1 is now closed at the Ranger Station North Ragged Point Inn and at Mud Creek.
Highway 1 Climbing Lane Project:
As part of construction for the Highway 1 Climbing Lane Project, there will be traffic control with flaggers as needed on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22, between the hours of 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., approximately.
The additional traffic control will be provided to help reduce congestion during the peak weekend travel times. The goal is to help traffic move efficiently through the intersection of Rio Road and Highway 1. Drivers will be able to access both directions of Highway 1 and Rio Road.
A previously planned closure of the southbound Highway 1 left turn lane to Rio Road has been canceled.
Drivers wishing to avoid the intersection may detour to Carmel Valley Road and Carmel Rancho Boulevard. All business and shopping centers remain open during construction.
Weekday daytime work for the Highway 1 climbing lane will continue behind the temporary concrete barriers along Highway 1 between Rio Road and Carmel Valley Road from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Highway 68 – Salinas River: April 23 – April 27
There will be alternating lane closures on eastbound Highway 68 between the Reservation Road and Hunter Lane for bridge work and a maintenance chip seal operation. The work will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Highway 101 – Greenfield: April 23 – April 27
Daytime shoulder work along southbound & northbound Highway 101 from Harden Farms Road to Oak Avenue in Greenfield will occur from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Highway 101 – Chualar to San Benito County: April 23 – April 27
Night time striping along Highway 101 between Chualar and the San Benito County Line from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
