Balance Bike Camp – May Sessions

Families of Color Monterey County + Family Biking Monterey County host year-round Balance Bike Camps, open to all families. Balance bikes are the ideal partner to introduce your young child to the concept of two wheels. Due to the extremely low step-through entry point and the high cockpit, little ones can enjoy two wheels as soon as they can start walking. Please note: We are a not-for-profit organization. 100% of all fees go directly back into supporting the program and providing scholarships for low-income families.

When: May 21 @ 9-10am

Where: Ord Terrace Elementary (1755 La Salle Ave, Seaside)

Family Biking in the Absence of Dedicated Infrastructure

For adults who bikes with their kids and are interested in a clinic where we talk about the absence of dedicated bike infrastructure and how to stay safe while riding in Monterey County. We’ll meet in a no-to-low traffic area with our bikes/helmets/kids and talk about “taking the lane”, when to use the sidewalk, how to use bike lanes, being flexible about route selection, increasing your confidence, bike options (family cargo bikes, child seats, and trailers), bike maintenance, etc. and then we’ll put those skills into practice.
