Bike Map Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
|
Q: Can I get any maps for free? A: We have free maps, but they are for promotional purposes only, and we only have a limited quantity. We generally distribute the free maps to only state, county, and local agencies or organizations such as tourist offices. You are welcome to one. We will send it to you free of charge, or you can pick it up at our office. If an individual insists on getting more than one free map, staff can give them as many as they request (within reason) if staff feels that their request is justified. Q: Is there Sales Tax? A: No tax on orders of more than 10 maps (wholesale). For orders of less than 10, the sales tax is included in the $5 price. Q: Do you take credit cards? A: No. Checks and cash only. Buyers address must be on check. Q: Can you ship them to us? Do you pay for shipping? A: If the order is small – less than 10 – we can ship for free. For orders of 10-100, shipping and handling starts at $4.00 for 10 or more, and increases by $1 for each increment of 10 maps. See chart on order form. If the order is larger than 100, we will determine shipping costs on a case by case basis, or we will hand deliver. Q: Can we see a sample of the plastic-based map? A: We can’t hand out free plastic-based maps, but we can send you one free paper map (looks exactly like the plastic-based map). Q: How many can we buy? A: We have about 2700, so as many as you like (we can always print more). Q: Where are the maps available for purchase? Where can I pick up a free map? A: We will post a list of locations with links on the Transportation Agency for Monterey County's website. |
