| What exactly are Unmet Transit Needs? |
Unmet Transit Needs is an annual process where we collect information about the Monterery County region which will help us to imprve mobility for the elderly, persons with disabilities and persons of limited means. The Transportation Agency is seeking comment on the need for transit service throughout the region, or for improvements to existing services.

Summary of recent Unmet Transit Needs Findings by the Transportation Agency for Monterey County

| 2003-04 - Eight hours a day, five days per week, service by Soledad Transit as an Unmet Transit Need that is Reasonable to Meet.

The Transportation Agency for Monterey County staff will work with the County of Monterey, the Cities of Gonzales, Greenfield, King City, and Soledad, and Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) to develop an action plan for Sunday Transit service for the South County Transit during the next U nmet Transit N eeds process.

2004-05 - Sunday transit service connecting the southern Monterey County cities of King City , Greenfield , Soledad and Gonzales to Salinas is an Unmet Transit Need that is Reasonable to Meet within Monterey County .

2005-06 - Within the County of Monterey and the cities therein, there are no unmet transit needs that are reasonable to meet.

2006-07 - Within the County of Monterey and the cities therein, there are no unmet transit needs that are reasonable to meet.

| The Transportation Agency, Monterey-Salinas Transit and the City of Gonzales have agreed to use FY 2006-07 to plan and develop the structure, financing and publicity for new transit service in the City of Gonzales , which could begin as early as 2007-08. |
