TAMC CONE ZONE REPORT

 ROAD AND LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR MAR. 17 – MAR. 23

MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, March 10 through Saturday, March 16 – newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Highway 1: Big Sur Library – Molera Park Entrance, Big Sur: March 20 – March 21
One-way traffic controls will be in place on Highway 1 from the Big Sur Library to the entrance to Molera Park/Coast Road in Big Sur for pavement work from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Highway 1: Rocky Creek Bridge, Big Sur: March 18 – March 22
One-way traffic controls will be in place on Highway 1 near the Rocky Creek Bridge for road repairs and work on the bridge from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Highway 1: Vincente Creek Bridge, Big Sur: March 21 – March 22
One-way traffic controls will be in place on Highway 1 at the Vincente Creek Bridge due to repair work on the bridge from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Work hours on Friday will be 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Highway 1: Carmel – Castroville: March 18 – March 20
A moving lane closure will occur on Highway 1 between Carpenter Street in Carmel to Merritt Street in Castroville for vegetation spraying from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Highway 1 Climbing Lane Project: Carmel Valley Road – Rio Road: March 18 – March 23
Work to create a Climbing Lane at Highway 1 and Rio Road was completed late last summer, but some additional needs for the area were postponed in consideration of the tourist travel season.

That additional work continues this week at the intersection of Highway 1 at Carmel Valley Road for crews to replace the signal mast arm from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March 18-March 22. One of the southbound left turn pocket lanes onto Carmel Valley Road will be closed to traffic during construction.

Highway 68: Pacific Grove – Monterey: March 18 – March 22
One-way traffic controls will be in place on eastbound and westbound Highway 68 between Piedmont Avenue and Highway 1 for drainage work during the evening. The work will occur between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Highway 68 – Salinas River: March 18 – March 22
There will be alternating lane and ramp closures on eastbound and westbound Highway 68 between Spreckles Blvd and Reservation Road for bridge work. The work will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Highway 68 – Salinas River: March 18 – March 22
There will be alternating night-time lane and on ramp closures on eastbound and westbound Highway 68 between Spreckles Blvd and Reservation Road for bridge work. The work will occur from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Highway 68 – California Street – Soledad Street, Salinas: March 20- March 23
One lane closure will occur on westbound Highway 68 between Katherine Avenue and Romie Lane in Salinas for night time utility work between 9 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Highway 101: Soledad – San Benito County Line: March 19 – March 20
One lane closure will occur on northbound and southbound Highway 101 from Underwood Road in Soledad Prison to the San Benito County line for vegetation spraying from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Highway 101: Jolon – Salinas: March 17 – March 22
Various nighttime ramp and lane closures will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Jolon Road and Spence Road in Salinas for sign work during the evening from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Monterey County Road Work: Chualar – Salinas: March 19 – March 22
Traffic controls and alternating lane closures will occur on several busy county roads so that Monterey County RMA – Public Works crews can take pavement core samples from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Delays can be expected, and motorists are advised to used alternate routes. The scheduled work is as follows: 

3/19-20: River Road from Chualar River Road to Limekiln Road (3.10 miles). Motorists are advised to use alternate routes such as Chualar River Road and Gonzales River Road.

3/21-22: River Road from Las Palmas Road to Las Palmas Parkway (1.83 miles). Motorists are advised to use alternate routes such as Chualar River Road.
