TAMC CONE ZONE REPORT

ROAD AND LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR August 25 – August 31 

MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, August 25 through Saturday, August 31 – newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.  

Highway 1: Ragged Point, Big Sur: August – September 
Highway 1 will be closed from north of the San Carpoforo Creek Bridge to south of the Ragged Point Inn during the evenings from 9 pm until 5 am. These overnight FULL highway closures will occur, Sunday night through Friday morning to allow for the construction of the foundation of a viaduct.

Emergency vehicles and local residents will maintain access during these overnight closures. Motorists will also encounter one-way reversing traffic control within the project limits,  Monday – Friday, from 5 am –  until 4 pm.

Highway 1: Rocky Creek Viaduct –  Hurricane Point: August 26 – August 29
One – way traffic controls will be in place on northbound and southbound Highway 1 between  the Rocky Creek Viaduct and Hurricane Point for guardrail repair work along the highway from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Highway 1: San Luis Obispo County Line – Lime Creek Bridge: August 26 – August 29
One – way traffic controls will be in place on northbound and southbound Highway 1 between  the San Luis Obispo County Line and Lime Creek Bridge for mowing work along the highway from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Highway 1: Handley Drive – Valley Way, Carmel: August 25 – August 26
One lane closure will occur along southbound Highway 1 between Handley Drive and Valley Way in Carmel for utility work in the evening on August 25, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Highway 1: Carmel – Santa Cruz County Line: August 25 – August 30
Alternating lane closures and intermit ramp closures will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Carpenter Street in Carmel and the Santa Cruz County Line for striping work on the road and ramps; and one-way traffic controls will be in place on portions of the highway between Highway 156, the Elkhorn Slough Bridge and the Santa Cruz County Line, in the evenings, Sunday  – Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Highway 68: Pacific Grove – Monterey: August 25 – August 30
One nighttime lane closure and one-way traffic controls will be in place along eastbound and westbound Highway 68 between Piedmont Avenue and Highway 1 for drainage work in the evenings, Sunday – Thursday, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Highway 68: York School Road – Blue Larkspur Lane, Monterey: August 28 – August 30
One nighttime lane closure and one-way traffic controls will be in place along westbound Highway 68 between York School Road and Blue Larkspur Lane, Wednesday – Thursday for grinding and paving work, from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Highway 101: Alta Street/Old Stage Road – Little Bear Creek Bridge, Salinas: Aug. 25 – 30
Nighttime lane closures will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Alta Street/Old Stage Road and Little Bear Creek Bridge in Salinas for paving work on the roadway and ramps from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Highway 101: Sanborn Road, Salinas: August 26 – August 29
The right turn lane at the Sanborn Road off ramp from southbound Highway 101 will be closed for pavement work from 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The other lane will remain open. The suggested truck detour is to exit on John Street and left on Work Street towards Sanborn Road.

Highway 101: San Antonio River Bridge: August 26
One lane closure will occur  along northbound Highway 101 at the San Antonio River Bridge in King City for tree work from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Highway 101: Camp Roberts: Now – September 27
One long-term lane closure will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 101 at Camp Roberts for paving work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be a long-term closure of the on and off ramps of northbound Highway 101 at Camp Roberts.

Highway 101: South Camp Roberts – East Garrison: Now  – August 30
One long-term lane closure along the shoulders of southbound Highway 101 between South Camp Roberts and East Garrison for roadway excavation work.

Highway 101: San Ardo – San Lucas: Now – December 31
One long-term lane closure will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between the Paris Valley Road overcrossing and the Rancho undercrossing for grinding and paving work.

Highway 101: Wild Horse – First Street, King City: Now – January 2020
One long-term lane closure will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Wild Horse Road and First Street for roadway excavation work from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Highway 101: Highway 183 (Main Street) Salinas:  Now – August 25
There will be a permanent closure of one lane and the on ramp at northbound Highway 101 and  northbound Highway 183 (North Main Street) in Salinas for paving work until 7 p.m. on August 25th.

Highway 156: Highway 156 – Vierra Canyon Road: August 25  – August 30
One-way traffic controls will be in place along eastbound and westbound Highway 156 for nighttime striping work, Sunday – Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Highway 183: Menke Street – Rossi Street, Salinas: August 25
One lane closure will occur along northbound Highway 183 between Menke Street and Rossi Street for utility work from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Highway 183: Salinas Street – Lincoln Avenue, Salinas: August 26  – August 28
One lane will be closed on northbound Highway 183 (West Market Street) between Salinas Street and Lincoln Avenue for utility work from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Highway 183: Salinas Street – Lincoln Avenue, Salinas: August 28  – August 30
One nighttime lane closure will occur along northbound Highway 183 (West Market Street) between Salinas Street and Lincoln Avenue, Wednesday – Thursday, for utility work from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
