TAMC CONE ZONE REPORT

ROAD AND LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR September 1 – September 7 

MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, September 1 through Saturday, September 7 – newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent. 

Highway 1: Ragged Point, Big Sur: August – September 
Highway 1 will be closed from north of the San Carpoforo Creek Bridge to south of the Ragged Point Inn during the evenings from 9 pm until 5 am. These overnight FULL highway closures will occur, Sunday night through Friday morning to allow for the construction of the foundation of a viaduct.

Emergency vehicles and local residents will maintain access during these overnight closures. Motorists will also encounter one-way reversing traffic control within the project limits,  Monday – Friday, from 5 am –  until 4 pm.

Highway 1: San Luis Obispo County Line – Lime Creek Bridge: Sept, 3 – Sept. 5
One – way traffic controls will be in place on northbound and southbound Highway 1 between  the San Luis Obispo County Line and Lime Creek Bridge for mowing work along the highway from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Highway 1: Bixby Creek Bridge – Hurricane Point: Sept, 3 – Sept. 5
One – way traffic controls will be in place on northbound and southbound Highway 1 between  the Bixby Creek Bridge and Hurricane Point for slope repair work along the highway from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Highway 1: Carmel – Marina: September 3 – September 6
Alternating lane closures and intermit ramp closures will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Carpenter Street in Carmel and Lake Drive in Marina for striping work on the road and ramps; and one-way traffic controls will be in place on portions of the highway in the evenings, Tuesday – Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

 Highway 1: Pajaro River Bridge: September 3 – September 6
Alternating lane closures will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 1 at the Pajaro River Bridge for striping work on the road in the evenings, Tuesday – Thursday, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Highway 68: Pacific Grove – Monterey: September 3 – September 5
One nighttime lane closure and one-way traffic controls will be in place along eastbound and westbound Highway 68 between Piedmont Avenue and Highway 1 for drainage work in the evenings, Tuesday – Wednesday, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Highway 68: Bit Road –  Laguna Seca Track Entrance, Monterey: Sept. 3 – Sept. 7
Nighttime lane closure and one-way traffic controls will be in place along eastbound Highway 68 between Bit Road and the Laguna Seca Track Entrance in Monterey, Tuesday – Friday for tree removal work, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Highway 68: Spreckles Blvd. – Reservation Road, Salinas: September 5
One lane closure will occur along eastbound and westbound Highway 68 between Spreckles Blvd. and Reservation Road for bridge work, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Highway 68: Pajaro Street – Soledad Street, Salinas: September 3 – September 6
One lane closure will occur along westbound Highway 68 between Pajaro Street and Soledad Street in Salinas, Tuesday – Friday, for utility work, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Highway 101: Alta Street/Old Stage Road – Little Bear Creek Bridge, Salinas: Sept, 3 – 6
Nighttime lane closures will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Alta Street/Old Stage Road and Little Bear Creek Bridge in Salinas for paving work on the roadway and ramps from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Highway 101: Camp Roberts: Now – September 27
One long-term lane closure will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 101 at Camp Roberts for paving work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be a long-term closure of the on and off ramps of northbound Highway 101 at Camp Roberts.

Highway 101: San Ardo – San Lucas: Now – December 31
One long-term lane closure will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between the Paris Valley Road overcrossing and the Rancho undercrossing for grinding and paving work.

Highway 101: Wild Horse – First Street, King City: Now – January 2020
One long-term lane closure will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Wild Horse Road and First Street for roadway excavation work from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Highway 101: Highway 183 (Main Street) Salinas:  Now – September 24
There will be a long-term closure of the off ramp at southbound Highway 101 and  northbound Highway 183 (North Main Street) in Salinas for paving work until 7 p.m.

 Highway 156: Highway 156 – Vierra Canyon Road: September 3 – September 6
One-way traffic controls will be in place along eastbound and westbound Highway 156 for nighttime striping work on the highway and ramps, Tuesday – Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Highway 183: New Street – Villa Street, Salinas: September 5
One lane closure will occur along northbound Highway 183 between New Street and Villa Street for utility work from 8:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Highway 183: Salinas Street – Lincoln Avenue, Salinas: September 3 – September 6
One nighttime lane closure will occur along northbound Highway 183 (West Market Street) between Salinas Street and Lincoln Avenue, Tuesday – Thursday, for utility work from 7 :00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
