Monterey Herald: Letter to the Editor – “Measure X will improve options for seniors”

Measure X will maintain and improve the quality and accessibility of transportation for those most in need of alternatives: seniors and people with disabilities. The detailed plan developed with input from a broad community coalition ensures increased mobility for these groups throughout Monterey County.

Transportation remains a significant barrier to independence for seniors and people with disabilities. As an advocate for seniors, I’m personally invested in helping to increase safe and easy transportation options for a section of the community often overlooked. In addition to increasing the accessibility and convenience of public transportation, Measure X will also fund nonprofit programs that give seniors and people with disabilities more transportation options to get health care appointments, engage in social activities and go shopping independently.
