TAMC OFFERS RESOURCES ON TELECOMMUTE PROGRAMS
MONTEREY COUNTY – The Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC) is no longer conducting business as usual. Like other businesses, the agency is adhering to Governor Newson Executive Order to shelter-in-place during the outbreak of Covid-19. It is also following medical advice, which includes social distancing to help prevent the spread of the virus.
To assist other business, TAMC is providing information and resources on telecommuting to assist with social distancing. Social distancing, via telecommuting is one of the most effective methods to help prevent the spread of the virus in the workplace. Rather than physically traveling to the office, employees “travel” to work via telecommunication links. The technology and access to Wi-Fi makes communication easier and seamless for employers and employees to keep in touch with each other and conduct business via telephone, online chat programs, video conferencing and email.
This method of commuting to work is one of the components of the Transportation Agency’s countywide Go831 Smart Commute Program. As business and companies grapple with impacts of the coronavirus, we encourage Monterey County employers to assess their needs and determine if a partial or full telecommute program could be implemented during this critical time.
We are available to assist by providing resources on telecommute policies and programs. That information is attached and available at www.Go831.org. Theresa Wright, TAMC’s Community Outreach Coordinator is also available to answer questions at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 831.775.4411.
