HOW TO MAKE LOCAL STREETS SAFER FOR PEDESTRIANS AND BICYCLISTS
MONTEREY COUNTY – With more people walking and bicycling now more than ever, the Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC), in partnernship with the American Public Works Association, Monterey Bay Chapter present a “Quick Build Webinar” on how to make local streets safer.
Rich Deal, Traffic Engineer, and Ariana Green, Safe Routes to Schools Program Manager, both with the Transportation Agency share their designs and experiences on how to make meaningful, yet low-cost, road safety improvements. From temporary “pop-ups” to short-term “quick-build” projects, they review state of the art practices. Also offered in the webinar, is information about the upcoming Active Transportation Program Cycle designed to fund just this type of Quick Build project.
