Gateway for Monterey Bay
Your local and regional government agencies are exploring ways to improve walking and biking in Seaside and Sand City, and we are looking for input from the community. Our multi-agency partnership is collaborating to develop a project to enhance safety, mobility, and trail access for pedestrians and bicyclists throughout the community. Our proposal, known as the Gateway for Monterey Bay, consists of multiple elements at strategic locations throughout the area. These elements will work together to eliminate barriers for walkers and bicyclists, and replace these barriers with high-quality active transportation infrastructure. The proposal is intended to connect existing bike and trail networks together, resulting in a seamless and worldclass network for residents and visitors.

Background
Our team includes the Cities of Seaside and Sand City in partnership with Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC), Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG), and Caltrans. We are developing a grant application for upcoming cycle of the Active Transportation Program (ATP). The ATP funds projects that increase the safety and mobility of non-motorized users.
