The Emergency Ride Home Program is for commuters, who would like to leave their car at home, but worry about being stranded if there is a family emergency or if they are asked to work late. The program offers “peace of mind” to commuters by providing reimbursement for a taxi, ride share service or rental car in an emergency situation.
Commuters who live, work or go to school in Monterey County and use an alternative mode of transportation at least once a week are eligible to participate in the Emergency Ride Home program. They are also eligible to participate if they are signed up in the 511 Ridematch system.
