Monday, March 29, 2021
MONTEREY COUNTY – The Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC), in partnership with Monterey Salinas Transit (MST), is seeking public input on unmet transit needs.
The unmet transit needs process is required by the state’s Transportation Development Act under the Local Transportation Fund, which allocates a quarter cent of the general sales tax that is collected statewide and comes back to the County on a population basis to support public transit services.
The agencies are asking community members to help define transit needs that the public transportation system is not currently meeting. Comments can be submit by any of the following means through April 30, 2021:
· At a virtual public hearing on March 31, 2021
· By mail, ATTN: Madilyn Jacobsen, 55 B Plaza Circle, Salinas, CA 93901
· Via email (madilyn@tamcmonterey.org)
· By phone (831) 775-4402
· Through the online form at this link on the TAMC website: https://www.tamcmonterey.org/unmet- transit-needs
