National traffic safety trends show a dramatic increase in traffic-related deaths, with the first quarter of 2022 showing the highest number of deaths in two decades. Here in Monterey County, injury collisions involving people who walk or bike along our the streets in our neighborhoods have increased over.....% since ....2019, with roughly half of involving children under the age of....in 2022.

The Safer Streets Together campaign focuses on increasing public education, re-engineering city streets and increasing enforcement of the rules of the road to slow down traffic and provide more space for those walking or biking.
