“TAMC SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT ON DEFINING REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION PRIORITIES”

Wednesday, October 25, 2023

MONTEREY COUNTY – The Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC) is seeking public input to help define the goals, policy objectives, and performance measures of the 2026  Regional Transportation Plan. Updated every four years, the Regional Transportation Plan functions as an over twenty-year road map for improvements to Monterey County’s multi-modal transportation systems.

Members of the public can provide input to inform the plan by either taking a quick 5-minute online survey or by filling out a paper copy of the survey and returning it to the Transportation  Agency. The online and paper surveys are available in both English and Spanish languages.

The survey is available online at the following links:

·       Survey:      https://publicinput.com/rtpeng

·       Encuesta: https://publicinput.com/rtpspn

Paper surveys can be downloaded at these links:

Hard copies of the surveys are also available at the TAMC office, located at 55-B Plaza Circle, Salinas. The   deadline to provide public input for the Regional Transportation Plan is 5 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2023.

Regional transportation planning in California is a dynamic process. It involves the interaction of federal, state, regional, and local agencies and the consideration of multiple plans and programs. As the county’s state-designated Regional Transportation Planning Agency, the Transportation Agency for Monterey County is tasked with developing a Regional Transportation Plan. The Regional Transportation Plan provides a basis for budgeting State and federal transportation funds         to transportation projects within the county over a long-range time frame.

The Transportation Agency anticipates adoption of goals, policy objectives and performance measures in early 2024; and the draft Regional Transportation Plan is expected to be released to the public for review and comment in December 2025.
