TAMC CONE ZONE REPORT
MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, February 1, through Saturday, February 7– newest information is in bold text. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.
Highway 1: State Park Drive Off-Ramp: Long – Term
There will be full closure of the off-ramp along southbound Highway 1 at State Park Drive for soundwall construction.
Highway 1: Atherton Drive – Oliver Road: February 2 – February 6
There will be closure of the right shoulder along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Atherton Drive and Oliver Road for gas line work from 8 pm to 6 am.
Highway 1: Plaskett Camp Road – Prewitt Creek Bridge: February 2
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Plaskett Camp Road and Prewitt Creek Bridge for shoulder work from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm. Travelers may encounter a 15-minute delay.
Highway 1: Wildcat Creek Bridge – Yankee Point Drive/Mal Paso: February 2– February 3
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Wildcat Creek Bridge and Yankee Point Drive/Mal Paso for tree work from 9 am to 3 pm. Travelers may encounter a 5-minute delay.
Highway 1: Pfeiffer Burns State Park – Partington Ridge Road: February 3
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Pfeiffer Burns State Park and Partington Ridge Road for slide removal from 8:30 am to 3 pm. Travelers may encounter a 15-minute delay.
Highway 1: Sycamore Draw Bridge – Torre Canyon Bridge: February 4
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Sycamore Draw Bridge and Torre Canyon Bridge for slide removal from 8:30 am to 3 pm. Travelers may encounter a 15-minute delay.
Highway 1: Garrapata State Park – Granite Canyon Bridge: February 4
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Garrapata State Park and Granite Canyon Bridge for tree work from 9 am to 3 pm. Travelers may encounter a 5-minute delay.
Highway 1: Silver Spur Creek – Stuart Avenue: February 6
There will be closure of the bike lane and right shoulder along northbound Highway 1 between Silver Spur Creek and Stuart Avenue for PG&E Tree Trimming from 8 am to 12 pm. Travelers may encounter a 5-minute delay.
State Route 68: Torero Drive & Portola Drive: August 6 – June 2026
There will be an early morning partial closure on westbound Portola Drive from 6 am to 9 am, Monday through Friday.
Westbound traffic will be blocked at the driveway of Toro Elementary School, between the intersections of Torero Drive and Portola Drive, and Davenrich Street and Portola Drive. Vehicles will not be able to enter Highway 68 from Torero Drive at 9:00 am; the road will reopen to regular traffic. The weekday partial closures will continue through June 2026.
The Toro Park Cut Through Traffic Pilot Project is designed to re-route traffic that diverts from Reservation Road and Highway 68 into Serra Village and Toro Park during commute hours to avoid traffic congestion on Highway 68. The project is also designed to address safety concerns and congestion in the residential Toro Park communities, inundated with aggressive drivers who take Portola Drive as an alternate route and speed through a school zone to re-enter Highway 68 at Torero Drive.
State Route 68: Corral De Tierra Road – San Benancio Road: February 2 – February 6
There will be closure of the right shoulder along eastbound and westbound State Route 68 between Corral De Tierra Road and San Benancio Road for utility work (potholing) from 9 am to 3 pm.
State Route 68: Blue Larkspur Lane – Bit Road: February 5
There will be closure of the right shoulder along eastbound State Route 68 between Blue Larkspur Lane and Bit Road for utility work from 9 am to 1 pm.
Highway 101: SB Route 101 – SB West Laurel Drive: February 1 – February 6
There will be full closure of the off-ramp along southbound Highway 101 between SB Route 101 and SB West Laurel Drive for AC Paving from 8 pm to 5 am. Travelers may encounter a 5-minute delay.
Highway 101: SB Route 101 – SB Boronda Road: February 2 – February 5
There will be closure of the off-ramp lane along southbound Highway 101 between SB Route 101 and SB Boronda Road for emergency work from 9 am to 3 pm.
Highway 101: Crazy Horse Road – Dunbarton Road (North): February 2 - 7
There will be lane, median, and shoulder closures along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Crazy Horse Road and Dunbarton Road (North) for drainage work from 7 pm to 5 am. Travelers may encounter a 20-minute delay.
Highway 101: North Soledad OH: February 5
There will be one lane closure along southbound Highway 101 at North Soledad OH for bridge work from 9 am to 3 pm. Travelers may encounter a 5-minute delay.
State Route 183: Wood Street/Haro Street – Walsh Street: February 2 – February 6
There will be closure of the right shoulder along southbound State Route 183 between Wood Street/Haro Street and Walsh Street for utility work from 9 am to 3 pm.
Marina: Reindollar Avenue and Del Monte Boulevard: January 27 – February 2
The southbound left turn lane on Del Monte Blvd. at Reindollar Avenue will be closed. The northbound left lane and left turn lane on Del Monte Blvd., at Reindollar Ave., will be closed. The Reindollar Ave. and Del Monte Blvd. intersection will remain open.
Marina: Palm Avenue – Marina Drive: February 9
There will be closure of a section of Palm Avenue between Marina Drive and Del Monte Boulevard for asphalt paving from 7 am to 3:30 pm.

Marina: Imjin Parkway: Long – Term
The roadway is now open in its full and final configuration! Stripping and markings to install on the multi-use path/trail will occur but this will not impact the roadways.
Delivery and installation of the roundabout artwork is anticipated to occur in March of 2026.
TIPS FOR DRIVING ROUNDABOUTS:
1. Vehicles in the roundabout have the right of way.
2. Vehicles merging into the roundabout:
· Check for crossing pedestrians!
· Yield to vehicles in the roundabout and merge safely

Carmel Valley Road and Laureles Grade Roundabout: Carmel Valley Road at Laureles Grade: Long-Term
Construction on the second stage of the Roundabout project at Carmel Valley Road and Laureles Grade continues from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
In the event of an emergency, emergency responders will be afforded priority through the work zone. During this time, flaggers will be used to direct traffic. Once complete, temporary traffic signals will direct traffic.
During construction, commuters will experience roadway delays.
