TAMC CONE ZONE REPORT
MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, September 20 through Saturday, September 26– newest information is in bold text. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.
Highway 1: 1 Mile North of Point Sur Lighthouse – Point Sur Lighthouse: Long Term
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1, beginning one mile north of the Point Sur Lighthouse and ending at the Point Sur Lighthouse for temporary signal slide work. Travelers may encounter a 15-minute delay.
Highway 1: Fremont Blvd/California Avenue: Long Term
The on ramp will be closed along southbound Highway 1 at Fremont Boulevard and California Avenue for roadway excavation work.
Highway 1: Rocky Creek Bridge – Rocky Creek Viaduct: Long Term
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Rocky Creek Bridge and Rocky Creek Viaduct for bridge work.
Highway 1: Ventana Entrance – Nepenthe (North Entrance): Long Term
Alternating one-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Ventana Entrance and Nepenthe (North Entrance) for bridge work.
Highway 1: Big Creek Bridge – Big Creek Vista Point: September 21- September 25
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between the Big Creek Bridge and the Big Creek Vista Point for miscellaneous work from 6 am to 4:30 pm. Travelers may encounter a 10-minute delay.
Highway 1: South end of Limekiln Creek Bridge – End of Limekiln Creek Bridge: Sept. 21 – Sept. 24
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound Highway 1 along the south end of Limekiln Creek Bridge to the end of Limekiln Creek Bridge for core drilling work from 8 am to 4 pm. Travelers may encounter a 10-minute delay.
Highway 1: Dolan Point – Rat Creek: September 21 – September 25
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Dolan Point and Rat Creek for drainage work from 7 am to 6 pm. Travelers may encounter a 15-minute delay.
Highway 1: Dolan Creek Bridge – Turnout South of Lime Creek: September 21
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Dolan Creek Bridge and Turnout South of Lime Creek for tree work from 9 am to 2:30 pm. Travelers may encounter a 5-minute delay.
Highway 1: Nepenthe (South Entrance) – Ventana Entrance: September 21 – September 22
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Nepenthe (South Entrance) and Ventana Entrance for tree work from 9 am to 2:30 pm. Travelers may encounter a 5-minute delay.
Highway 1: Big Sur State Park Entrance – Fernwood: September 21
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Big Sur State Park Entrance and Fernwood for tree work from 9 a to 2:30 pm. Travelers may encounter a 5-minute delay.
Highway 1: Buck Creek Bridge – Big Creek Vista Point: September 21 – September 25
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Buck Creek Bridge and Big Creek Vista Point for drainage work from 7 am to 6 pm. Travelers may encounter a 15-minute delay.
Highway 1: Pfeiffer Burns State Park: September 22
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 at Pfeiffer Burns State Park for tree work from 9 am to 2:30 pm. Travelers may encounter a 5-minute delay.
Highway 1: Grange Road – Big Sur Library: September 22
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Grange Road and Big Sur Library for tree work from 9 am to 2:30 pm. Travelers may encounter a 5-minute delay.
Highway 1: Big Sur Library – Big Sur River Inn: September 23
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Big Sur Library and Big Sur River Inn for tree work from 9 am to 2:30 pm. Travelers may encounter a 5-minute delay.
Highway 1: Yankee Point Drive/Mal Paso – Yankee Point Drive (North): September 22 – September 23
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Yankee Point Drive/Mal Paso and Yankee Point Drive (North) for drainage cleaning work from 9 am to 2 pm.
Highway 1: Yankee Point Drive (North): September 23
There will be alternating lane closures along southbound Highway 1 at Yankee Point Drive (North) for drainage cleaning work from 9 am to 12 pm. Travelers may encounter a 10-minute delay.
State Route 68: Adobe Lane: September 20 – September 25
There will be alternating lane closures along eastbound and westbound State Route 68 at Adobe Lane for drainage work from 8 pm to 5 am.
State Route 68: Presidio Boulevard – Samuel F B Morse Drive: September 20 – September 25
There will be alternating lane closures along eastbound and westbound State Route 68 between Presidio Boulevard and Samuel F B Morse Drive for drainage work from 8 pm to 8 pm.
State Route 68: Blue Larkspur Lane – Bit Road: September 20 – September 25
There will be alternating lane closures along eastbound and westbound State Route 68 between Blue Larkspur Lane and Bit Road for drainage work from 8 pm to 5 am.
State Route 68: Bit Road – Laguna Seca Track Entrance: September 20 – September 25
There will be alternating lane closures along eastbound and westbound State Route 68 between Bit Road and Laguna Seca Track Entrance for drainage work from 8 pm to 5 am.
Highway 101: Hobson Avenue – Teague Avenue: Long Term
There will be one lane closure along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Hobson Avenue and Teague Avenue for pavement work and k-rail installation from 8 am to 6 pm. Travelers may encounter a 10-minute delay.
Highway 101: Boronda Road – Route 101: September 20 – September 24
There will be one lane closure along Highway 101 between Boronda Road and Route 101 for roadway excavation work from 6 pm to 6 am.
Highway 101: Jolon Road (Northbound) – Central Avenue: September 22 – September 23
There will be lane and shoulder closure along Highway 101 between Jolon Road (Northbound) and Central Avenue for drainage work from 8 am to 6 pm. Travelers may encounter a 10-minute delay.
Highway 101: Fifth Street/Johnson Canyon Road – Broome Road: September 22 – September 25
There will be lane and shoulder closure along northbound Highway 101 between Fifth Street/Johnson Canyon Road and Broome Road for drainage work from 9 am to 3 pm. Travelers may encounter a 5-minute delay.
Highway 101: Lockwood/San Lucas Road – Route 198: September 23
There will be one lane closure along northbound Highway 101 between Lockwood/San Lucas Road and Route 198 for tree work fro 9 am to 3 pm. Travelers may encounter a 10-minute delay.
Highway 101: Alisal Road – West Laurel Drive: September 23 – September 25
There will be lane and shoulder closures along northbound Highway 101 between Alisal Road and West Laurel Drive for roadway excavation work from 8 pm to 5 am.
Highway 101: Route 101 – Airport Boulevard: September 20 – September 21
There will be full closure of the off-ramp along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Route 101 and Airport Boulevard for pavement work from 8 pm to 6 am.
Highway 101: Route 101 – Spence Road/Abbott Street: September 20 – September 22
There will be full closure of the off-ramp along northbound Highway 101 between northbound Route 101 and Spence Road/Abbott Street for pavement work from 7 pm to 5 am.
Highway 101: Route 101 – Route 146: September 21 – September 22
There will be full closure of the off-ramp along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Route 101 and Route 146 for pavement work from 7 pm to 6 am.
Highway 101: Route 101 – Arroyo Seco Road: September 21 – September 23
There will be full closure of the off-ramp along northbound and southbound Highway 101 along Route 101 and Arroyo Seco Road for pavement repair work from 7 pm to 6 am.
Highway 101: Route 101 – Livingston Road/El Camino Real: September 22 – September 24
There will be full closure of the off-ramp along northbound and southbound Highway 101 along Route 101 and Livingston Road/El Camino Real for pavement work from 7 pm to 5 am.
Highway 101: Route 101 – Walnut Avenue: September 23 – September 25
There will be full closure of the off-ramp along northbound and southbound Highway 101 along Route 101 and Walnut Avenue for pavement work from 7 pm to 5 am.
Highway 101: Route 101 – Oak Avenue: September 23 – September 25
There will be full closure of the off-ramp along northbound and southbound Highway 101 along Route 101 and Oak Avenue for pavement work from 7 pm to 5 am.
State Route 183: Del Monte Avenue – Wood Street/Haro Street: Sept. 22 – Sept. 25
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound State Route 183 between Del Monte Avenue and Wood Street/Haro Street for electrical work from 8 pm to 5 am. Travelers may encounter a 5-minute delay.
State Route 183: Crane Street – Mead Street: September 20 – September 22
There will be lane and shoulder closures along northbound State Route 183 between Crane Street and Mead Street for road work/median cross-over work from 8 pm to 5 am.
State Route 183: Poole Street - Pajaro Street: Long Term
The right shoulder will be closed along southbound State Route 183 between Poole Street and Pajaro Street for roadway excavation work from 10 am to 11 pm.
State Route 183: Sanchez Street - Preston Street: Long Term
The right shoulder will be closed along southbound State Route 183 between Sanchez Street and Preston Street for roadway excavation work from 10 am to 11 pm.
State Route 183: Monterey Street/Palm Street – Wood St./Haro St.: Long Term
The right shoulder will be closed along northbound State Route 183 between Monterey Street/Palm Street and Wood Street/Haro Street for roadway excavation from 7 am to 11 pm.
State Route 183: Monterey Street/Palm Street: Long Term
There will be full closure of all lanes along Monterey Street/Palm Street at State Route 183 for roadway excavation work from 9 am to 12 pm.
State Route 183: Speegle Street – Route 183: Long Term
There will be full closure of all lanes along northbound Speegle Street at State Route 183 for roadway excavation work from 10 am to 12 pm.
State Route 218: Charles Avenue – Wilson Drive: Long Term
There will be lane and sidewalk closure along eastbound State Route 218 between Charles Avenue and Wilson Drive for curb/gutter/sidewalk work from 7 am to 12 pm. Travelers may encounter a 10-minute delay.
Prunedale – San Lucas: Long Term
There will be intermittent ramp and lane closures along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Prunedale and San Lucas for drainage culvert upgrades. Travelers may encounter a 10-minute delay.
Sand City: Playa Avenue between California Avenue and Del Monte Boulevard: Sept. 20 – Sept. 25, 2026
September 20 at 7 p.m. – September 24 at 6 a.m.: The section of Playa Avenue between California Avenue and Del Monte Boulevard will be fully closed. Access to Edgewater Shopping Center will be maintained via Metz Road and via California at the Panera entrance. Access to Sand Dollar Shopping Center will be maintained via Tioga Avenue and Metz Road.
